I was sceptical, kept overlooking this one but I decided ok its Charlize my favorite bad ass chick she is like the Tom Cruise female version, I hear she does stunts herself, well this did not disappoint,I'm addicted and can't wait for the sequel.
That confession will forever remain iconic. So highlander meets deadpool in terms of healing and nigh immortality with deadpool 2 x force. Yeck! Dudley ain't getting any prettier with age. Some people say the music was horrible, I think the music itself was great, but they are right, it didn't fit the film for the scene. That being said, it didn't detract from this amazing movie. Yes, there are also a few cringy moments, but that's what made the movie great. I loved the concept. Loved the characters, loved the ending! It was really good. How youve managed to make an edit already, i do not know, but im grateful hahahahah this was beautiful 🥺❤️.
Hes all and even more. I'm so glad Jafar found his true love. All jokes aside, this is beautiful. I swear that woman ages like fine wine. Thank you for your service to the world, talibans ♥. Something happened to Walt in a battle and we need to know what made him the man holding on to some horrible memory.
I wish I'm an immortal so just to say you are a child. An infant. Your mocking is thus infantile to some grown ass man. Let's hope Blackburn doesn't fall from a helicopter this time. In my years of reading comics i have grown to be very pretentious of what i consume, but this story legit made me go back to my younger self in the sense that it gave me real excitment to just know about the characters and what they will do next, im interested in each and everyone of them. This is such a simple concept yet so fun, please dont let this franchise be a short one. The moment I saw Charlize post on IG about the old guard being on top 10. I watch it without hesitation ❤.
I'll start with the bad:
1. Dialogue - too many cheesy one liners
2. Music - songs felt out of place or nailing the nail on the head. Would have preferred more orchestral score
3. Villain - waaaay too over the top and cartoonish, sorry Dudley
The good:
1. The action
2. Charlize Theron and the rest of the actors portraying "The Old Guard"
3. Joe and Nicky love story - Immortal warriors whose love transcends time brought successfully by amazing acting and chemistry of Marwan Kenzari & Luca Marinelli
I suspect having the writer who wrote the graphic novel write the screenplay was both a blessing and a curse. I heard the movie is pretty faithful to the graphic novel (I never read) but just didn't translate well to film. Nevertheless, I did enjoy it overall, but thanks more to strong acting by the heroes. They had great chemistry in conversation and in their fight scenes. I hope they learn what worked and what didn't in this one to make the sequel better.
Reminds me of the old movie : The Highlander. .
My thing is, they never actually showed Merricks body, why is that? Hmm 🤔.
